Les Hauts de Marnac is a country estate, with an old manor house, built in the 18th century, which has retained its original architectural and decorative features, its outbuildings and part of its adjoining land: built in an elevated position, it offers panoramic views of the Dordogne valley and the village of Saint-Cyprien.
Very charming corner of the countryside, with a hilly terrain of more than 6 hectares of woods, meadows, walnut groves, orchards, …, the estate is ideally located, in the heart of the Périgord Noir, with the main points of interest less than 40 kilometers away.
A stay in the Hauts de Marnac thus offers you the possibility of bouncing naturally from bastide to wine cellar, from medieval castle to prehistoric cave, from bike ride to canoe trip, from village classified as a cultural city, from gourmet market to a producer’s shop, … and, in the evening, when Marnac falls asleep, to let yourself be absorbed by the depth of the sky on summer nights, to listen to the silence of a still preserved countryside, to let time pass slowly, in the coolness of the lime trees of the park, …
Our key words are Respect and Harmony. Harmony, which we strive to apply on a daily basis and which motivates our commitment to these places. Respect for people, buildings, and the nature that surrounds us. But also Conviviality, carelessness, sharing and good humor.
We watch over the building that time has bequeathed to us, where the ocher stone of the Pblack érigord shines under the rays of the sun, a framework imposed on the restorations that we have undertaken.
We also watch over the nature and the bucolic charm of the property, and preserve the habitat of all the small animalswith which we share the estate: banishment of all pesticides, eco-grazing in the walnut grovesand the orchard, rational hedge trimming, “eco-responsible” cleaning products, etc.
Since we will have to rub shoulders for a few days, even a few weeks, let’s take the opportunity to place recklessness, exchange and good humor at the center of our concerns. Moments of sharing around breakfasts, during impromptu aperitifs or, quite simply, around the swimming pool.
Retired recently, we left the Paris region and wanted to keep an active life, which combines quality of life and social ties, in the provinces, far from the hectic pace of the capital.
Particularly appreciating the forms of B&B accommodation and guest rooms during our own holidays, it is therefore quite natural that we turned to this type of activity.
Several unsuccessful research campaigns were necessary, then, finally, we fell under the spell of this property in 2021, immediately conquered by the beauty of its ochre stones, the serenity released by its park with hundred-year-old trees and its privileged location.
After “a few” months of renovation and upgrading to current comfort standards, we now have the pleasure of welcoming you and opening wide the gate to the Hauts de Marnac estate, with its three three guest rooms and its two gites
